Kathryn iis not only a Principal but also our Drama Tutor!
She brings a wealth of experience in the theatre industry, both as a professional actress but also as a drama and singing teacher. Kathryn has taught at the highest level of youth theatre education at London Drama School, Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance and the prestigious National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.
Kathryn has, for the last year and a half, been teaching with Little Voices Clitheroe, Nelson, Bradford, Shelf and Preston. So has a fantastic knowlage of Little Voices and the benifits of the unique lesson structure.
Kathryn trained at Rose Bruford College in London as an Actor Musician and continues to work as a professional Actor and singer. She has credits in both theatre and television, most recent credits include Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors and The Secret Garden with Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre in Chester , Story Drum with Theatre Jemilda in London, Stephen Sondhiems Assassins at The Unicorn Theatre London, A New Brain with FreshCut Theatre and Playboy of the Western World at Rose Bruford. She has also appeared in ITV1s drama Monroe.
As a singer and musician, she took lead vocals in Hold it to the Skies for Year Out Drama and on several projects she have worked as musical director/composer.
Tamara has worked as a drama and music specialist for many years, teaching, directing and performing, and has been teaching for Little Voices for the last 2 years.
After training in ballet as a child, Tamara’s love of theatre developed through being a member of many local amateur theatre groups, particularly Wrexham Musical Theatre Society and Tip Top Productions where she enjoyed roles in: The Wizard of Oz, Annie, The Sound of Music, La Cage Aux Folles, Oliver, Carousel, Godspell and many more.
Originally an English and Drama teacher for Ysgol Dinas Bran, she then trained at East15 Acting School to become a professional actor. She has worked in a number of theatres in England and Wales and been in touring productions of Cinderella, playing the Fairy Godmother, and Aladdin, playing the Princess.
Most recently she has toured a performance of The Railway Children and set up a community choir in Chirk.
Tamara loves working with community groups and has taught many performing arts groups, both locally and in London. Her greatest achievement to date was directing a group of school-refusers who created an internet safety performance which they then toured to primary schools.
She is currently enjoying singing Rutter’s Requiem with Cantorion Rho.
