What would you say to your younger ‘self’ today?

As we get older, we start to think about who we are, who we’ve become, where we’ve come from.  We look at the children in our lives; our own, our nieces, nephews, children of friends and think about the journey they are starting out on.  We sound like our mothers and our fathers, giving the same messages and words of wisdom they once gave us, in order for us to make good decisions and live our lives experiencing health, love, contentment and happiness.

As we get older, we tend to surround ourselves with people who support and encourage us.  We have the confidence to recognise those that do this for us and those that don’t and can make decisions about who we allow to take on those roles.  Those that don’t tend to fall somewhat by the wayside.  And that’s ok!

Today, there are so many more hurdles to overcome for our children.  Social media, an amazing tool in this lifetime, can also create isolation, insecurity and uncertainty unless used wisely and with education attached to it.  How do we nurture, encourage, build confidence and a sense of togetherness and security within friendships?  What are the words of wisdom we could give our children today?  Are they the same as yesterday?  Will they be the same tomorrow?
